Which beach is best?

Is it fair to say that we have likely become connoissuers of the beach?

It’s hard not to, when you grow up here so close to the water. There are many differentiators: is it driveable? Sandy? Rocky? Full of tourists? Good for clam digging? Castle building? Surfing?

Ocean Shores

A top tourist destination for the state, it is always full of visitors with a large beach entrance. Have I gotten my car stuck in the sand there? Yes.

Westhaven State Park

Westport’s surf spot. Always packed with travelers on a sunny day, but a great place to go on a walk along the walking paths in either direction.

Half Moon Bay

Just before you enter the Westhaven State Park, this little beach is slightly more protected from the wind and doesn’t require a Parks Parking Pass.

Twin Harbor State Park

A fun place to camp, with lots of grassy dunes along the pathway to the beach. A great place for photoshoots too!

Grayland Beach State Park

My personal favorite clamming location! And hidden gem all around.

Seabrook

A good spot if you want a lot of close ammenities and have the calf strength to climb a heavy set of stairs!

Roosevelt Beach

My personal favorite - just south of Seabrook, with beautiful high cliffs, a good driveable entrance, but fairly few tourists.

Pacific Beach

A great place to explore the hidden alcoves and spend a weekend camping near the beach!
