A passion for local

The li’l Hip Pocket Guide began as a handmade zine, featuring some of my favorite local shops in Grays Harbor in 2012. At that time, I had a retail store in downtown Hoquiam and felt like the advertising options available to me (and the high prices) weren’t the best fit for my small business. With the help of my friends, we got our first zine out in the world.

I recently relaunched the zine, with the dream of promoting even more local creative small businesses and artists. My passion is for local, and my dream is that Grays Harbor could be a thriving community with plenty of hidden gems, nice places to shop, cute coffee shops, and friendly vibes.

I am a photographer, an artist, a musician and a teacher. I love sharing what I know and learn with the community through the zine, this online resource, social media, and in person meet-ups.
